The Best Zoo in the World!

If you don't already know - Edmonton has the greatest zoo! If you do know, then you know that I am kidding, because really it is pretty crappy - but at the same time, good enough for an almost 2 year old.

So with a nice day upon us, I decided to take advantage and take Kennedy to the zoo! And do you know who decided to join us? Mrs. Kimm Hatch! What a treat that was!

Kennedy had a lot of fun, and Kimm and I got to enjoy the sun and get a bit of a walk in for a couple hours.

The best part of the day, was seeing Lucy the Elephant walking around! Pretty crazy to see a real live elephant that close!

Kennedy got scared by the sheep - of all animals - because he "baaaed" really loud right by her. Now she will randomly say to me. "No Baa, Scary Baa."

Up to no Good at WEM

After spending most of the week at home without a car - and an unbelievably, ridiculously long boring day on Thursday, one that I never want to repeat again although Im sure I will - Kennedy and I both needed to get out of the house for a while today. So to West Ed. Mall we went!

I had been promising Kennedy for a couple days that we would go see the "horsies" soon - the Merry-Go-Round at Galaxyland, her favorite! As we walked through the mall and made some stops on the way to the "horsies" I decided to document our adventures together! Here they are:

Playing with the fake dog in Old Navy

Sippin' some Orange Julius - which I go to finish cuz she didn't want all of it

Her new shoes (WalMart $10) that she hates and I forced her to wear - I dont know why she hates them cuz they are awesomely cute!

Finally at Galaxyland - quick game at the arcade along the way

A little nose pickin' here and there

Our first - and what will turn out to be only ride - the hot air balloons

Well we made it to the horsies and who decides they dont want to actually ride them but instead freak out when I put her on?

Dollarama on our way back to the car to throw all their balls around and buy some mini M&Ms

Some other kids were playing on this stage so I let her run around

There you have it! Until next time...

My Side Job

I am very happy to announce that I am the proud owner of my very own etsy shop! For those of you who dont know what that is - it is a website where people sell their handmade stuff. For the longest time I have thought about trying to sell stuff on there and trying to figure out what that might be, and I finally got around to it - with a lot of encouragement from other people, especially Ryan. Ryan had always told me I should sell some of the stuff I make on there, but I always thought no one would be it (I still dont know if anyone will.) But the point is, I want you all to check it out because, lets be honest, I am super proud of myself! My shop is called Pretty Cute Pink and I focusing on accessories for kids rooms, mostly. Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/prettycutepink?ref=pr_shop There are more items to come, I just have not gotten to them yet - so be sure to check back in a few days for more!

The Ultrasound

Yesturday brought forth great excitment, as our ultrasound date had finally arrived! One which I thought was never going to get here. So off we went, Kennedy and all!

After a long wait in those tiny change rooms, I finally got to go back and see our little baby! The tech asked me if I wanted to know the sex of the baby right now, or wait until she brought Ryan in. I was very tempted to hear it right then, but decided to be a nice wife and wait for Ryan. She brought him and said, ok let me show you... of course then I knew for sure it was going to be a boy, cuz what else would she "show" us? Sure enough, she told us we will be having a boy!

Now everytime Kennedy looks at me, she points to by belly and says "baby", then says "boy". It is very cute and I am excited to see her as a big sister to this little guy!

I am sure that some of you know that all along I had really been hoping for another girl and thought I would be somewhat dissapointed when they told me I was having a boy, but surprisingly I am really excited to have a boy! I look forward to meeting him and seeing the kind of man he turns out to be.

A New Year

Last week Ryan and I spent a lot of time talking about double strollers and which one we should get (and which one we REALLY want to get!) All that talk about strollers made me start thinking about what new things this year is going to bring our little family. Some of them much bigger than others but it is starting to sound like things will be a lot different come the end of summer! Here is the list so far:

1. New stroller
2. New place to live
3. New sister-in-law
4. New nephew
5. New daughter/son - the biggest change!
6. New car (hopefully)

I am sure there will be some more added to the list, but as of right now those seem life big enough changes for one year! All of them though are great things that I really look forward to!

The Latest

What have we been up to? Well, last week was reading week for Ryan and Saturday just so happened to be my birthday! So we decided to take advantage of time off, a reason to celebrate and Ryans parents' kindness. We thought it would be fun to go to Ryan's family cabin in Rocky Mountain House for a few days and just hang out, do some cross country skiing and some skating on the lake. Doesn't that sound like it would be a great time? We sure thought so. So, we dropped Kennedy off at Ryan's parents and went on our way!

The only downside to this plan was that we (mostly me) forgot that we lived in Alberta! Man, I have never been so cold in my life! It was not what we hoped for. We got to the cabin and it was probably colder inside than out (and outside was a whopping -30C). Ryan built a fire in hopes of heating the place up. I sat bundled up as much as possible and sat as close to the fire as possible, but all to no avail! I didnt warm up once in the whole 5 hours we were there! Ryan did manage to get me outside and do a little skiing, but after all my whinning and complaining, we packed up everything and headed to his Grandma's place to spend the next couple of days. She was kind enough to let us use it while she was gone.

Now we could relax, not be frozen and just laze around, which is exactly what I wanted to do!

Here I am under about 5 blankets trying to find some warmth

I burnt my mits on the fireplace trying to get them warm. My sock burnt while it was on my foot.

In other news, Kennedy's new favorite thing is finger painting. She usually does this once a day.

So Close...

Recently I bought a potty training seat (yes its from the dollarstore for only $2 - hey why not?) so that we can start putting Kennedy on the toilet. So far, I just put her on it before her night time bath and whenever in the day that she feels like it. I am not getting too serious yet about a training routine or anything like that.
So last night I put kennedy on the toilet right before her bath and she sat there, while I sang her a song to destract her, for about 30 seconds or so and then had had enough so I took her off. Only 10 seconds later did her decide to pee on our bathmat! If only I had left her for another few seconds then she would have had her first pee on the potty! Oh well, there is plenty of time for that!

Oh The Crazyness

I just thought this was a funny picture

Well I bet you all had no idea how crazy fun my life was! I am going to prove you wrong with this post! This morning I was lucky enough to get my hair dyed, finally, while Ryan watched Kennedy. So off I went to get it done, in Beaumont of all the silly places. I came home and Kennedy was having her nap, which was awesome, because then I could get some things done (when I say get things done, I mean I ate lunch and layed on the couch). Ryan went off to school and when Kennedy woke up, I noticed the craziest thing! Ryan had painted her finger nails! No way, you say, yes way. I took pictures.

One hand had pink and the other had purple. You will also notice the pen on her hand, she likes to draw on herself, and I let her.

After lunch we ventured off to Superstore and bought some groceries, if you can believe it. We then came home, ate some snacks and played. After dinner and In The Night Garden (which, by the way is the weirdest show but kennedy loves it) I decided to make muffins. Kennedy help by stirring the flour and then rolling around in the extras that fell on the ground.

Now if that is not a crazy day, then I dont know what it is!

Why I Haven't Written In 2 Months...

1. I have become very lazy!
2. I feel like nothing that interesting has happened
3. If something does happen, then I forget to write about it soon enough
4. I feel like my time is better spent - sitting around, sleeping, spying on ppl on facebook and eating
5. I would rather keep changing what my blog looks like then think of something to write
6. I am pregnant (I like to use that excuse as much as I can - its awesome!)

So, I apologize to all my loyal blog fans and I will be sure to stop being so lazy and keep you updated on my life and my families life!
