My Side Job

I am very happy to announce that I am the proud owner of my very own etsy shop! For those of you who dont know what that is - it is a website where people sell their handmade stuff. For the longest time I have thought about trying to sell stuff on there and trying to figure out what that might be, and I finally got around to it - with a lot of encouragement from other people, especially Ryan. Ryan had always told me I should sell some of the stuff I make on there, but I always thought no one would be it (I still dont know if anyone will.) But the point is, I want you all to check it out because, lets be honest, I am super proud of myself! My shop is called Pretty Cute Pink and I focusing on accessories for kids rooms, mostly. Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/prettycutepink?ref=pr_shop There are more items to come, I just have not gotten to them yet - so be sure to check back in a few days for more!

The Ultrasound

Yesturday brought forth great excitment, as our ultrasound date had finally arrived! One which I thought was never going to get here. So off we went, Kennedy and all!

After a long wait in those tiny change rooms, I finally got to go back and see our little baby! The tech asked me if I wanted to know the sex of the baby right now, or wait until she brought Ryan in. I was very tempted to hear it right then, but decided to be a nice wife and wait for Ryan. She brought him and said, ok let me show you... of course then I knew for sure it was going to be a boy, cuz what else would she "show" us? Sure enough, she told us we will be having a boy!

Now everytime Kennedy looks at me, she points to by belly and says "baby", then says "boy". It is very cute and I am excited to see her as a big sister to this little guy!

I am sure that some of you know that all along I had really been hoping for another girl and thought I would be somewhat dissapointed when they told me I was having a boy, but surprisingly I am really excited to have a boy! I look forward to meeting him and seeing the kind of man he turns out to be.

A New Year

Last week Ryan and I spent a lot of time talking about double strollers and which one we should get (and which one we REALLY want to get!) All that talk about strollers made me start thinking about what new things this year is going to bring our little family. Some of them much bigger than others but it is starting to sound like things will be a lot different come the end of summer! Here is the list so far:

1. New stroller
2. New place to live
3. New sister-in-law
4. New nephew
5. New daughter/son - the biggest change!
6. New car (hopefully)

I am sure there will be some more added to the list, but as of right now those seem life big enough changes for one year! All of them though are great things that I really look forward to!

The Latest

What have we been up to? Well, last week was reading week for Ryan and Saturday just so happened to be my birthday! So we decided to take advantage of time off, a reason to celebrate and Ryans parents' kindness. We thought it would be fun to go to Ryan's family cabin in Rocky Mountain House for a few days and just hang out, do some cross country skiing and some skating on the lake. Doesn't that sound like it would be a great time? We sure thought so. So, we dropped Kennedy off at Ryan's parents and went on our way!

The only downside to this plan was that we (mostly me) forgot that we lived in Alberta! Man, I have never been so cold in my life! It was not what we hoped for. We got to the cabin and it was probably colder inside than out (and outside was a whopping -30C). Ryan built a fire in hopes of heating the place up. I sat bundled up as much as possible and sat as close to the fire as possible, but all to no avail! I didnt warm up once in the whole 5 hours we were there! Ryan did manage to get me outside and do a little skiing, but after all my whinning and complaining, we packed up everything and headed to his Grandma's place to spend the next couple of days. She was kind enough to let us use it while she was gone.

Now we could relax, not be frozen and just laze around, which is exactly what I wanted to do!

Here I am under about 5 blankets trying to find some warmth

I burnt my mits on the fireplace trying to get them warm. My sock burnt while it was on my foot.

In other news, Kennedy's new favorite thing is finger painting. She usually does this once a day.
